Joshua's Men is a year-long curriculum to develop spiritual leaders in the local church.
What is Joshua's Men?
Joshua’s Men is a year-long mentoring process which seeks to develop spiritual leaders who make a an impact for the kingdom of God in their homes, their churches and their communities. This is accomplished by meeting monthly for fellowship, instruction and mentoring. The Leader’s Guide provides everything you need to start a Joshua’s Men group: introductory materials, monthly leaders’ notes and lessons.
The Participant’s Guide contains the handouts for each of the men who are participating in a Joshua’s Men group.

One of my favorite foods is ice cream. Not only do I love ice cream because of it cools you off on a hot summer day, but I love the fact that there are so many different flavors of ice cream. Baskin Robbins boasts of 31 flavors. The awesome thing about Baskin Robbins 31 flavors is that you can have one each day during the month and never repeat. I love that kind of variety. For some people when you say, “ice cream” they think of chocolate, another might think of vanilla, or chocolate chip cookie dough or my all-time favorite peanut butter cup. The best part is that they are all ice cream, just different types. It is the same way with thinking.
When I was a kid anytime I had to answer a question or solve a problem, I was told, “Put your thinking cap on.” Did you ever hear that from a teacher or from your parents? As leaders, in order to be successful, we need to always have our thinking caps on.
Dear Lord,So far today, I am doing all right. I have not gossiped, lost my temper, been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish or self-indulgent. I have not whined, cursed or eaten any chocolate. However, I am going to get out of bed in a few minutes, and I will need a lot more help after that. Amen.
So if you want to enjoy mostly pleasant interactions with people as you go through you day, treat others well. While it will not work 100% of the time (there are still cranks), I have discovered that our positive attitude toward others can encourage them to have a positive attitude toward you.
Attitude is something that you don’t think about unless of course you run into someone that has a bad attitude, at the grocery store, at work or gasp, church. Our attitude is one of those intangible things that we ourselves don’t think about but those who live with us or work with us know an awful lot about it.
In 1999, after my wife and I visited Israel, we stopped in London for a few days on our way back. On one of those days, as we finished a tour at British Parliament, an English gentlemen asked if we’d like to see 10 Downing Street, the Prime Minister’s residence. As we approached the gate, manned by law enforcement, our guide asked if we could see the Prime Minister. For a few moments, I held out hope that our guide could get us through the gate. Sadly, he couldn’t. I could have tried to access the Prime Minister’s residence other ways but all of them would have landed me in a British jail. The only access was through that gate.
Having light with the flick of a switch is something we tend to take for granted. But in reality, the technology is fairly recent. It was only in 1879 that Thomas Edison had a breakthrough in creating a long-burning incandescent light, something we now seemingly cannot live without. In truth, light is integral to our lives.
Bread, so simple and yet so necessary. Every culture has some kind of bread as a staple in their diet. In fact, we all have probably eaten it in one form or another in the last 24 hours.
We finally come to the part of prayer that we seem to be good at: supplication or asking. It is no accident that supplication is the final aspect of our model prayer. It is last in order to keep prayer in its proper perspective.
Now that we have looked at the importance of thinking and the types of thinking now it is time to talk about the nuts and bolts of thinking.
